Over 90 participants attended the launch of the “AmCham Morocco- U.S.A Export Lab” held on Thursday, January 30th at Villa Blanca.
The main mission of “AmCham Morocco- U.S.A Export Lab” is to boost and strengthen Moroccan exports to the U.S. marketplace and promote an environment of innovation, creativity, and productivity which will keep Moroccan companies competitive in an ever-changing global economy.
“We are very pleased and excited about this new initiative and are thankful to USAID and CEED for their support,” says AmCham President Walter Siouffi. “The U.S. Morocco Free Trade Agreement, which was signed in 2006, offers excellent opportunities for Moroccan companies to enter a huge market with a GDP of 15684.80 billion US dollars and a population of over 320 million.  The objective of this program is to offer support, guidance, and resources to our members for achieving their goal of tapping into the U.S. marketplace.”

The event began with a short presentation and was followed by Q&A in which participants were able to voice their questions and concerns about the U.S. market and the incubator program.  During the Q&A, it was made clear to exporters that they shouldn’t be deterred by the size of the U.S. market and that many small and niche market opportunities exist.  The main requirements are only that the exporter has an innovative product and also has the means to produce and ship in a punctual fashion.

Selected exporters for the AmCham Morocco- U.S.A Export Lab will receive 140 hours of training and 140 hours of mentoring provided by experts and exporters alike who have proven experience with the U.S. marketplace.

The incubator project also includes the development of a website that will serve as a comprehensive platform that exporters can use for information, regulation, and B-to-B with buyers in the U.S.

AmCham Morocco is convinced that with the right training and tools we can succeed in helping our member companies in forming a sustainable and thriving export relationship with the U.S. marketplace.

Interested exporters who feel they could benefit from this program and would like to join the incubator please email amcham@amcham.ma.
